Responsibilities
As Director of Investment Management, Andy is responsible for overseeing all aspects of SAMA’s investment business. His duties include but are not limited to: investment strategy for current advisory programs, advanced case design, as well as being the primary source of investment research and due diligence for advisors within the firm. Andy also over sees the investment operations department, all while conducting business with integrity and keeping to the high ethical standards that serve as the operating directive of Securian Advisors MidAmerica.

Experience
Prior to joining Securian Advisors MidAmerica in January 2009, Andy spent ten years at Intersecurities, a member of Aegon, where he was responsible for day-to-day investment operations as well as serving as an investment consultant to advisors throughout the country. He also spent three years as an intern at a nationally registered RIA firm while attending college.

Andy is Series 7, 63, 66, and 24 registered.

Education
Andy holds a BA in Finance from the University of Northern Iowa where he also studied Economics and Accounting.

Hobbies and Interests
A lifelong resident of Iowa Andy currently resides in Marion Iowa with his wife and two children. In his spare time you will typically find Andy coaching youth sports or enjoying a round of golf.
