Education

Ben began his financial services career in 1995 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  He graduated from the Harold Walter Siebens School of Business, Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, Iowa.  While at Buena Vista, Ben participated in the study abroad program and studied economics in Europe, including a class at the London School of Economics.  He also interned for the Internal Revenue Service in criminal investigations.

 Other Experience

Comprehensive financial planning is one of the services Ben offers as well as estate planning, 401(k) retirement plans, business succession strategies, deferred compensation and asset management.  He also frequently speaks to groups regarding their 401(k) and the importance of retirement strategies.  Ben has served on the Board of Directors for the Eastern Iowa Chapter of the Financial Planning Association.  He was also listed in Who’s Who in American Business and Finance, 1997-1999.

 Interests

An avid fastpitch softball player, he has pitched for several men’s fastpitch softball teams in state and regional tournaments.  Previously he served 8 years as the pitching coach for the nationally ranked Coe College softball team who was the NCAA DIII National Runner up in 2009.  In 2010 he was on staff with South Mountain Community College of Phoenix, AZ which finished 9th in the NJCAA.  In 2011 he was appointed Head Softball Coach at Solon High School where his team made a trip to the state tournament in his inaugural season.  Ben is a high school and NCAA football referee and enjoys playing golf, biking and fishing; he has also previously volunteered as a Big Brother for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Eastern Iowa for 12 years.
