Don Homan began his career with Securian Advisors MidAmerica in 1989. He works with his clients designing protection, accumulation, and distribution strategies.

His focus work is the area of retirement strategies. This involves coordinating your assets in the decade before retirement and developing distribution strategies during retirement. This work includes:

Pre-retirement cash flow projections
Asset management
Designing of payout schedules during retirement
Close coordination with your tax advisor*
Estate planning in coordination with your attorney*

Don feels these are critical areas because most accounts that people use to accumulate their retirement savings are not designed to pay it out in an organized manner. As a result most payouts approaches are short term in nature and suffer in economic downturns. In addition to his work with clients, Don also presents seminars on these topics for groups.

Don received his Masters Degree from the University of Northern Iowa and is a Chartered Financial Consultant. He resides in Cedar Rapids with his wife and three active children. His community activities include Rotary International and serving as a volunteer junior high coach.
