Education
Certified Financial Paraplanner designation from the College of Financial Planning in 1986. Jan worked for a Clearwater financial planning firm for 12 years. In 1996, she attained her Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.

Other Experience
From 1994 to 1998, Jan conducted seminars on the West Coast of Florida helping people set and achieve their retirement and estate planning goals. Jan was actively involved in the Tampa Bay Chapter of the International Association of Financial Planners (IAFP) and the Gulfcoast ICFP association.
In 1998, Jan, her husband Tom and their two children, Justin and Elyse, relocated to Cedar Rapids and Securian Advisors MidAmerica. Through consistent hard work and a reputation for outstanding service, Jan has built a solid client base and her business has expanded through referrals from clients and through various speaking engagements.
Jan has had the honor to have been a chosen speaker for the Iowa Women’s Foundation “Women and Money” series for several years. Jan is the past President of the Eastern Iowa FPA (Financial Planning Association) Chapter. She has been a member of the Charitable Roundtable in Cedar Rapids and a former member of the Cedar Rapids Estate Planning Council. Jan is currently on the board of the American Red Cross and a member of the Cedar Rapids Executive Association. She is currently on the board for the Eastern Iowa Planned Giving Council. Jan is also the co-founder of a networking group that has grown to over 20 members. Being part of this group spurred her involvement with a fundraising cause for the U of I Children’s Hospital called Touchdowns for Kids.
