Responsibilities
As Director of Operations, Bob is responsible for all centralized and branch operations. Bob also acts as the Chief Financial Officer of SAMA and is responsible for all financial accounting to include budgeting and forecasting, cash management, payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting.
Experience
Prior to joining Securian Advisors, MidAmerica, in January of 2004, Bob spent thirty-two years in the public sector as the Controller-Auditor for the City of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He reported directly to the Mayor and Council and was responsible for the accounting, budgeting, payroll and risk management for the City.
Education
Bob received a Bachelors of Business Administration degree with a major in Accounting from the University of Iowa.
Hobbies and Interests
Bob enjoys spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and following the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also is a member of the Board of Directors of the Witwer Center whose mission is “Supporting Older Adults by Providing”: Life Long Learning Programs, Leisure Activities, Nutritional Services, and Health Promotion & Wellness Education.
